What do you think? WENOVSKI Design Thinkers Conference 2011?

I am considering organizing a large WENOVSKI event next year (With large I mean 200+ people) But this should not be just a regular conference. So I would love to know what you think, if you are interested and if you would like to be part
of it.

And please tell me which events have really inspired you in the past and why.

I had a little conversation about a possible event on Twitter and I like to share a few interesting suggestions:
Nick Marsh suggested to organize it Copenhagen. I like this idea very much. Fabian Segelström then suggested to have the even in Lego Land and this opens some interesting possibilities for play :-) But seriously, Lego is a extremely innovative company.

Sylvain Cottong mentioned Gel Conference for inspiration.
Lauren Currie suggested Playmakers

Then there was a suggestion by Mayo Nissen (@mayonissen) to involve the Copenhagen Institute For Interaction Design (ciid).

I'm very positive about Copenhagen (though a bit expensive) and all suggestions. But I'm sure we can come up with many more ideas.

I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts and working together to create something exceptional.

Live|Work Brazil and I are developing a free service design conference for next year.
It will be held in different cities in Brazil and Amsterdam... but I would love to have more cities in Europe (like Berlin) joining us.

We developed a radical idea for the conference concept. I'll tell you more about it when we developed it a bit further :-)

I support the Berlin Idea. It is accessible, has a wonderful environment for an event like this and I am sure there would be institutions to support it and many great places to make it.

Sorry - I somehow didn't realize THIS thread was about storytelling :)

I am running this project: UX Storytellers http://uxstorytellers.blogspot.com - and I am planing on doing a conference, too. But I have no date nor a year fixed, yet.

I like this idea...
Copenhagen? Great city. Great people, but expensive.
My suggestions would be Prague, Amsterdam, Berlin. (sorted by my secret Jazz-to-Beer ratio algorithm).

But having read the other post now, Mumbai has good weather in December or May and it is only 15 hours in a plane from down under.

I would spend 30 hours in a plane if it was linked to Salone d.mobili in Milan April 2011

Hi Neeraj,
Sure :-) It can be in India. That would be great. My knowledge of India is just too limited to do it myself. I wouldn't;t know where to start :-) Any advise?

hey i was wondering ......how about having in India....would love to be a part in organizing the same.......and also how about focusing the theme of event 'From Design Thinking To Design Doing'.......think of it.......everybody talks about design thinking......as a participant to the event I wanna know what have u done using this methodology......u can have workshops in this event teaching people how to APPLY design thinking....solve complex problem (India is full of Interesting problems which can be looked at) ....take them for ethnographic studies...create a business plan....implement........Also focus should be on solving small/day to day issues & what business opportunities can one look into that.......

I would like to endorse erik roscam abbin's idea of
" Why not use the workshops to actually put our design thinking capabilities and expertise to use to solve some real issues? "
Also, I would like to tell about my 'over the top/ my art practice" idea of address an issue like environment as designers and artists. Well, I can as well place a url from a website we were gathering information about our idea. (I am sorry, it is not a great website) http://www.occupyingspace.com/transformat/ .
This group (occupying space) was designing unusual places to have this 'workshops' on, like places where the participants sensory would be adressed so ideas would be also 'out of the box'. We had for instance, discussions in absolute dark room, elegant dinners at sites for recycle .

Adam, Asking around might be a good idea :-) We would need a partner there who knows about beautiful spaces and other facilities available and other possibilities in the city. And maybe we can work on something real and useful. So we need to know about possible projects we could do...
