QUESTION: What is the relevance of Design Thinking for organizations and companies?
ANSWER: Design thinkers are able to use creativity to effectively develop solutions to problems. This is at the heart of most modern businesses and organisations – enabling them to better adapt to change and identify new opportunities.
QUESTION: How would you formulate the difference between Design Thinking and Service Design?
ANSWER: Design thinking for me is the ability to clearly express problems, assess the needs and factors that shape behaviour and carefully consider and implement solutions. This way of thinking and being are much broader than just ‘service design’ – they can be applied to almost every aspect business from innovation to finance.
QUESTION: What do you think is the future of Design Thinking?
ANSWER: Design thinking offers a huge number of tools for us all across many different aspects of our daily lives. As a discipline it will only grow in its popularity and remit – in part fuelled by the range of different techniques people can use and how quickly some of them can be adopted and integrated into other processes.
QUESTION: What value will the DT Bootcamp create for the participants?
ANSWER: Design bootcamp will be an intense, but practical way for participants to have a go at a whole range of design thinking tools and techniques – working out what works for them and stretching perceptions of what you can achieve in a small space of time. Everyone should leave with a renewed sense of energy about how to approach complex problems – and some practical ideas to help them find ways solve them.
