Dear All

Please see below a request from Thomas Heinemeier (of DG Enterprise) asking for nominations for an expert panel on services innovation. If you have any suggestions for this please let me know (by 12 February) and I will transfer.

Subject: Call for experts

Dear co-ordinators,

you may already have seen our call for a new expert panel on services innovation on the Europe INNOVA Web. I want to stress that this is also addressed to members of the ECO-IP, not only the KIS-IP. Eco-innovation in services is just as much of interest, if not more given the political salience of eco-innovative goods and services in general.

As it is not trivial to find true experts who can argue - in English:
- the specificities in the dynamics of eco-innovative services,
- the coverage of eco-service research and innovation in support programmes,
to name a few illustrative topics, do not hesitate to encourage specialist candidates among your acquaintances to introduce their application. Generalists are not needed.

Thank you for seeking appropriate candidates not only in your consortium, but your broader network,

@grahamhill The call is NOT explicitly focusing on ECO-services innovation. Reading through the document, it is actually rather broad, and whilst eco-services may be included, the challenge to me is in the many dimensions that the EU wishes to cover (academic, financial, societal, political, etc.).

Looks like they don't want an expert in services innovation, but an expert in ECO-services innovation, something entirely different. I guess it will be a challenge to find someone who has the necessary theoretical knowledge of eco-services innovation, a broad basket of skills with which to apply it and many years experience doing so across a broad range of clients.

PS. Even if I was one, and I am not, I don't think I would actually put MYSELF forward. To use a quaint English expression, 'It's just not cricket!'.
