Designing a Route map for rare conditions: any suggestions?

I'm working to design a route map for rares conditions. Diagnosis, information, coordination of care and access to treatment aren't effective. There is a lack of information and little attention on this conditions because they are 'rare'.Is there any experience/papers that you suggest me for my research phase? If you would like to know more about the project, please check out my blog post on www.paolapierri.info and on this network. Thank you!  See More

Do we need standards in social design?

As someone suggested me, I would like to share with you my last post on social services and 'standards' in designing service encounters, with all the comments I received.I hope you will join this conversation with new feedbacks and insights!Thanks--------------------According to some theoretical background, services encounters can be classified into two categories: standard and relationalones.Generally, in standard service encounters, providers and customers perform according to clearly defined…See More

Hi Paola, I liked you post on social design and standardization at social desigers group. I have just finished working with new Service Design book in Finnish language. It now in print! I started here at social designers group a discussion on new book on social design and I have just now started to work with it. Would you be interested in contributing? I attach here the very nutshell idea of the book and we could email about this more if you are interested.

Social Innovation with Design Tools

A new book on how design can improve everyday living, social cohesion and innovation. There is need to revisit and broaden the concept of social design. How can service design, interaction design and user centered design increase the innovation potential in the public and the third sector? What kind of practical means can different design methods offer for social change?
