Here for the coffee or for the "something else"?

I've always believed few things may continue to go on in services without anyone asking why. Models may get imported to other societies with no much attention, things may continue to be the same over…Continue

Congrats on the group, Marc! I'll follow it very closely and (hopefully) soon will share a case of a project I applied at a city's tourism secretary here in Brazil.

Hi Marc

Great idea for a group, I grew up in a beach resort and than worked for many years in ski resort in Colorado, first as a ski instructor (a front line experience, which managers and executives don't take full advantage of for making improvements- so lots of opportunities to be gained from communicating to these frontline employees) than as an interior designer, (what do tourist, vacations want and need in their vacation homes, hotels, shops, etc?) there are so many things I was able to learn about service design for tourism and its connections to everything from retail sales to urban planning, all in order to compete and attract more tourists. Looking forward to the discussions! -Kristina

Aidan, Andy, and all other members, a warm welcome to you from cold and snowy Tyrol! Please feel invited to post any relevant links you'll come across.

There is a lot of potential for this topic. Not only as recently tourism-specialised service design agencies appear, but also in terms of demand from the tourism industry - which I know this from first-hand.. :) However, the best way to predict the future is to co-create it ourselves! Let's use this group to start working on it..

Hi Marc - I'm here too at last. Still trying to find a location partner in Switzerland.

great idea for a group. I think that there is a lot of opportunity in this area and have already seen some interest as the market is coming under increased pressure and needs to think differently in these times.

I'm Adam, a Brit living in Germany. I don't work in the tourism industry directly, but it interests me because my family lives in a tourism-dependent country:
