I would like to propose we start discussing the role of Ethnography in Service Design. We all know that budget and time are hard constraints on SD projects. We are most of them using Ethnography but doing short video/photography takes, and this already comes with valuable insights.
Share your opiniion please, how do you handle the "time/cost" constraint in Ethnography research for Service Design.
While conducting ethnographic research, an equal or probably more effort goes into translating the data and insights into understanding and design solutions.
That amount of time also has to be counted in before taking the decision to conduct any ethnographic study.
That's true Bhavna. and that adds to the problem of lack of time also. We had been successfull in perfom short observations, complementing it with interviews in the spot. That was our solution when there's such lack of time available.
