The rise of new design disciplines in British Columbia
Since moving to BC, I have found that while there is a great depth to the general design scene, other industries are only just waking up to the advantages of cross-disciplinary design thinking as a tool for business and social change.
Maybe this is just my first impression but it seems that while areas such as co-design and service design are being taught in schools (or at least, as far as I know, brief mentions/lectures at Emily Carr) there is not as big a voice backing the rise of these disciplines as there seems to be in western Europe.
This is something that I would like to help change! I am aiming to try and organize a short but intense workshop series (ideally built primarily within the ECUAD ID students curriculum although I doubt the ease of doing so...).
Any thoughts/arguments? :) Join the group!
