As a theme for the Barcelona UnConference we have chosen the theme
SOCIETY 2.0
We would like to discover what this means to you. Where do you think the biggest change will happen? How will it affect our daily life? To help get us started, the good people from Claro Partners ( http://www.claropartners.com ) prepared a list of areas that might change in Society 2.0.
. Work . Play . Government . Spirituality . Health . Family . Friends . Business . Safety
. Charity . Food . Love . Economics . Privacy . Control . Sharing . Power . Change . Tradition
. Crime . Technology . Art . Environment . Aging . Security . Poverty . Consumption . Norms . Activism . Ideology . what else ???
To prepare the UnConference and get the conversation going, let us know:
What does Society 2.0 mean to you?

A society that builds on thinking in people needs, their health (mental and physical) and the sustainability of their activities within a natural environment, all in a feasible economic way, in that order.
A desmaterialized society in which we use and own less objects, and share most of them. That would mean servilisation of, today material or owned, products.
The creation of update-able material products? (I wrote a post about it)
i.e. Will we see an electronic entretainment service company that give me acces to internet or traditional media trough devices I don’t pay as an object, neither own, but as a service? Making this rethink how we design and deliver the product, the service, or even the bussines model?
An intangible (consumist?) society
- An hiper human-related life in which, as we doubtly (sadly?) can’t reverse the ‘hiper’ trend, we will swich the emptyness and destrutive relation we today have with objects to people. What will be then, the dark side?
- An hiper cultural-image life in which, as we doubtly (sadly?) can’t reverse the ‘hiper’ trend,
we will filter huge amount of cultural products based mostly or in people (theatre, music life, eating, sports event, etc) or in intangibles (books, films, series, internet, etc.)
Looking forward to attend to Unconference!

de-materialization is an interesting thing to look at, since it connects us both with our brain and knowledge but also with our spirit and inner being.
So, I believe things becoming more immaterial and property becoming only access has a lot to do with our evolution as human beings. (other people say it is just a sign of the world becoming a place where few can own and a lot just have acces)
2.0 means interaction, participation and exchange beyond money and beyond market, but also means the traditional ways of trading, power, beliefs and economy will have a big change, we still need to envision and understand.
i am really happy all these things are changing, maybe finally we have the opportunity to become even more human.

The image we have nowadays of ourselves in my opinion has changed too much compared to the image in which was build the world in which we live today. It's 'just' that.

It is a society that will sustain their way in a reality-based in change but increasingly in order to meet the real needs of people.
I believe that here there will be a redefinition of these needs by virtue of some imbalances in population concentrations and by virtue of the existence of another generation to live together the planet.
Generations have a greater longevity and the parental "functions" are in reorganization.
Things or goods will have a different meaning and value in use.
Relations between persons and entities tend to make without major differences in status or power.
The immaterial will assume an important role as a force for stabilization and development of people as people.
Permalink Reply by juan jose gasca rubio on January 31, 2011 at 10:32 As far as i am concerned, i agree with the opinion that one of the most importan issues would be the desmaterialized society. Projects like the car-sharing smaert in Germany are the begining to new changes. Icons and status are words that everyday are dicreasing their power and meaning, and only the need to become a group is still inside the people. However this feeling to be part of something has changed to a more human conexion.
Other big topic i see, it is the interconected society. Wherever, whenever you are, you are in touch with the people you want, the people you need... It has 2 main points, one in your close group, that even if you move to another country you not loose your relationships...and on the other hand in a work space it allows to reach conection that weren´t imposible in the recent past. For example, 5-10 years ago, weren´t imposible to have this short discussion so close and directly, and furthermore, i don´t know most of you in a present way, but i have the clear idea who you are, what you do and when we meet in Barcelona this week, it would be a different experience due to this virtual background.
Well, lokking forward to being there!!
best
Juan
