Hello African Design Thinkers.

We need your help!

The Global Service Jam will be a worldwide event on 11-13 March this year. People will come together at locations all over the world and have 48 hours to design new services.

It's a great occasion to learn and exchange methods, meet other designers, and give non-designers or customers a taste of service design in action. It's also great for publicity.

So far, we have around 40 locations worldwide.

As you can see here http://bit.ly/h4A3rH Africa is underrepresented!

We have one team in Cape Town who are wonderful, but have little design experience as far as I know. Otherwise, Africa is still empty on our map.

So if you are a designer in Africa  I'd like to ask you to take a look at http://www.globalservicejam.org and think about running a Jam. It's easy, fun, and good for the future of our field.

If you are outside Africa, but know African designers, please point them to the site and ask them to join the Jam!

Thanks

Adam

Hi African Design thinkers, Check out our program for the Kuopio experience! We have people coming from South Africa, Uganda, Kenya and Botswana. During the conference we are also planning for a workshop in co-operation with South African living lab @ CPUT. I need to send invite to Retha de la Harpe to this group also. Melanie, are you in Finland during our conference? Could you participate?

Just read something about AppLab

"The Application Laboratory is an initiative of the Grameen Foundation. We work to promote innovation in the provision of services and information using mobile phones and other ICTs (Information and Communication Tehcnologies) to alleviate poverty in the developing world."
