Just letting wenovski members know about the new course at the GSA and our initiative.
We are a group of designers who are part of the new Design Innovation course at the Glasgow School of Art. A course that's looking at us to discover what design can do, or where it might go next.
We'll be breaking up into three strands next year, transformation, environmental and service design. For the moment though, we are working together and have formed a collective called getgo to tackle the new sustain our nation brief which is being run by Audi.
"Sustain our Nation (SoN) is a competition for young designers that seeks to encourage innovation to address the issues of Ageing population, Health, Finance, Crime, Energy & Climate change, via the creation of social enterprises through design. The aim is to catalyse solutions that address these national issues at a local level, working with communities to deliver sustainable change.
SoN is keen to encourage designers to work with local stakeholders to identify which of the themes are most relevant to the local community and how these might be addressed in a sustainable way through design led social enterprise."
If you want to know more, and comment on our progress, ideas, thoughts, help us out somehow, do get in touch either here or over at our ning platform on http://sustainournation.ning.com
indeed, in usual spirits, I have a twitter account for it @getgoglasgow .
