thinklab© is back with its 5th Design Conference, with its Redesign Future Series entitled “Design.Social.Innovation”.
Designers today have the power to impact and change society and its people. This exclusive conference aims to reveal the new role designers across the globe are beginning to embrace.
A perspective beyond what we already know about being a designer. This leading edge and sophisticated conference will leave you with a new and empowering sense of being a designer for the future.

Speakers’ Line-up

Reita Rahim craft researcher

Reita Rahim is freelance craft researcher, a writer and also a translator. She founded Gerai OA (Orang Asal) since 2004, a volunteer-run mobile stall
and also authored several books and produced articles on indigenous people and design. Her objective is to create awareness of the indigenous
people to the public and improve the lifestyle of the indigenous people themselves.

Mitch Gelber architect

Mitch Gelber is the Director of Sustainability for T. R. Hamzah & Yeang. Originally from the United States, Mitch has studied and practiced in New
York, Vancouver, Havana, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. For over 30 years, T. R. Hamzah & Yeang’s signature deep green buildings and
master plans have helped define the cutting edge of ecological design. The firm is best known for its pioneering designs for passive low-energy tall
buildings, known as ‘bioclimatic skyscrapers’. They have created an extensive green vocabulary via both publication and built work.

Dr Goh Chee Leong psychologist

Dr Goh Chee Leong currently serves as the Vice President of HELP University College where he also sits as Dean of the Faculty of Behavioral Sciences at HELP University. He obtained his PhD in Psychology from the University of Otago, in New Zealand, where he was conferred the Otago Postgraduate Award. He is a regular columnist with the Star, writing a column entitle “psychology at work” in the area of work psychology.

Fahmi Fadzil performer / PopTeeVee

One of the new generation in the Five Arts collective, Fahmi Fadzil left behind his training in chemical engineering to be a performer and writer.
