The second edition of the Barcelona Design Thinking week at Elisava will focus on Social Innovation.
Today we live an era of profound change in a broad sense: social, economic and mentality schemes evolve and open opportunities for new visions that become the thematic focus for the week.
Fields such education, health, equality, housing and citizen participation have been key in developing the recent history of the western civilization and even more over the current economic crisis, which has transformed map of the world and the life of millions of people.
The redesign of systems that shape communities, reflects the fact that societies are changing, and not only to adopt new tools and technology, but to implement new behaviors and attitudes about the relevance of the systems that have ruled so far.
We expect BDTW2012 is an opportunity and a meeting point to generate synergies and many ideas to transform our own future.

Comment by Jorge Rodriguez on January 25, 2012 at 0:37 Dear Design Thinkers, I deeply regret to inform you of the cancellation of the Barcelona Design Thinking Week 2012, due to economic reasons beyond my control. Some of the sponsoring has been suddenly cut and without that support the event is not possible.

Comment by Daniel Weiss on January 23, 2012 at 18:13 The Virtual Infinite Canvas Desk
You put hundred of post it on the wall wrapping your ideas, you exchange ideas with your partners, after hours you got the solution, but the words/attributes you wrote in the Post it and the conversations are gone, summing up no one can learn from your work if enter on the room.
That was the past!!! feel lucky we will show at the meeting our real time "virtual infinite canvas desk" we developed this tool because were tired of loosing expertise in the wall or in the papers. Yes Post it in your screen + videos+ photos+ audios, imagination is the limit. Works on smartphones very soon, yes you are right you got it, you are travelling the idea came to your mind and you POST IT in your virtual desk!!!! All people see it, more over they can Re-POST IT on your POST-IT if you wish. It is icon driven no mouse click, but finger touch.
We tested the idea in our last workshop last weekend in Budapest. Watch this link and play around reorganizing the desk as you wish.

Comment by Jorge Rodriguez on January 16, 2012 at 7:08 all the activities will be programmed from 15-21h
the final schedule should be out today or tomorrow and I´ll publish it here. Do not pick just a day, you´ll miss something anyway :)
Comment by Vincenzo Di Maria on January 13, 2012 at 17:56 ok, when do you think would the main events/workshops be? Currently the programme is scheduled from Monday 5p to Friday 8pm. If I had to pick a day to be there? sorry but got few other things happening that week.
Comment by Jorge Rodriguez on January 12, 2012 at 6:25 hello Vincenzo and welcome again to BDTweek, details will be soon published in my blog, linkedin, facebook and elisava´s website. Collaboration room sounds good, let me see if that is possible inside elisava for the whole week.
Comment by Vincenzo Di Maria on January 12, 2012 at 0:49 Hola Jorge, any more details about the programme? 6-10 feb are 4 days... what about a 'collaboration room' a relaxed networking space with a notice borad to share and exchange ideas, projects, questions and find the way to collaborate on international projects? Basically an analogical version of DTnetwork website for the duration of the event.
